Who we are:

Austin17House is a non-profit (501c3) youth and family community center.

Our History

Austin17House was founded in January 2017 by Mark Anderson, after losing his son Austin Anderson in a tragic accident that took two lives on December 3, 2016. Mark wanted to take action immediately, to provide a safe place for Austin's friends could come have fun and be safe. With a little over $10,000 in donations from a GoFundMe page a family friend started Mark had favor with a local pastor at Grace Ministries International and build his vision of creating this safe place.

After taking establishment early of January 2017 a team of passionate individuals friends, family, community members gathered around Mark and began building a vision from the ground up.

Austin17House kicked off their first annual Community Forum where over 200 community members came out to support Mark and his vision of creating a place where youth and adults could come and be strengthened in their identity, become strong leaders and where they can build and find their dreams. The goal, to do this through community, building support systems and hope.

Our Impact

As a community, Brentwood and Austin17House are both currently aware of the ongoing drug epidemic and rise in suicide rates that have increased in New Hampshire. Since the the inception of A17H in February 2017 our focus has been to network with local organizations and individuals who share our vision of providing a safe place for youth to come and be themselves in a safe environment. Last year we were blessed with the opportunity to partner with the Exeter Hospital in their Youth Suicide Prevention Initiatives. This partnership has provided A17H the opportunity to provide after-school, hands on activities for youth to get involved in, in a safe and positive environment. We have also been able to provide education and awareness surrounding mental health, self-care and resiliency, substance use disorders and suicide prevention to community members and young adults. We are proud to partner with Exeter Hospital in bringing awareness and education surrounding mental health, while empowering individuals and families to be the best version of themselves.
